xna + xbla / 11.16.09

i've got a different project now but it fits underneath the phase project ideas, so this blog is becoming about that (and other children) projects.

basically it's going to be an xbla game, i'm pretty excited about it with the contributors being great at what they do. i'll toss some media up here in short order as well.

informational update / 08.02.06

well i'd love to say stuff's been going on, but it hasn't =]

phase was put on hold awhile back, the engine concepts however are still going to be used in a game i've been working on with ponbiki. i've also been back in touch with shelde, which there may be some collaboration coming up dealing with phase there again! i hope so, i'm a fan of his art style.

randy never really got off the ground with c++ in general, he's stuck in php land.

jon did get pretty far into the zero project, i should ping him to see if he wants to continue.

anton, well.. he's got a life now.

phase engine work

hopefully i'll be posting a phase engine alpha build within say a month (enough time for me to get something together, as little as it will be).. right before i head out to LA for a weekend vacation.

jon has some free time now to work on zero, we'll see how that pans out.

i'll have to see if randy has time to fiddle with zero, however much like most of us, he works too much to be healthy.

anton and i most likely will sit down and do some design work prior to going crazy on coding... or not, time shall tell.

devel update / 07.25.05

after a good long lull in the action we have a new player, randy, in the coding spree. seems he has fallen behind in his original deadline to make zero walk, but we're kind folk here such that he's recieved an extension.

once he submits his entry we'll continue on making zero do various things, as stated below, and perhaps some new tricks.

devel update / 03.14.05

i've got some good framework code and the animation test done, currently doing the input handler. currently using sdl as my media layer, but it's written nicely so i can put whatever media layer(s) i want under the interfaces.

anton has been working with sdl as well, we've had 1 coding challenge which was to make zero (mega man zero) walk. i'm using mmz as a working baseline to ensure my ideas and implementations are going to jive with real world (game) needs.

the next 3 "challenges" i've got planned for the engine are:
1) make zero jump and breathe, walk left and right (sprite flipping)
2) recreate the first level of mmz
3) place zero in the first level with complete collision detections

naturally, it will all build to a fully playable first level of mmz, including the cinamatic routines, main menu, menu screens, etc.

fun huh?

introducing..

phase is the working name of the game i've begun piecing together ideas + people on. it's rather exciting to get into the game and have some really good artists grooving with your ideas. i'm going to use this blog to exhibit parts of the phase development, such that if you are interested what is going on with the game you might get a sneak peek.
